Body condition:
Sharp edges caused by corrosion or damage which could injure people passing
by the vehicle will result in failure. Sharp edges of damaged wing mirrors,
broken glass, rusted wheel arches and torn bumpers or loose sharp edged panels,
which project beyond the extremities of the vehicle, are examples of such
defects.
Mascots and other sharp edged projections such as bumper bar brackets or
missing bumper end caps not resulting from corrosion or damage should not
result in failure. They are treated in the same way as a towing hitch which
of course is not a reason for failure.
Corrosion of sills, floor panels, inner wings are dealt with under the
prescribed area or
none-prescribed area requirements.
