Brake shoes/drums and discs/pads:
Brake discs and drums must not be contaminated by oil, brake fluid or grease. They must be secure, free from cracks and fractures and must not be excessively scored, pitted or worn.
Brake shoe and pad linings, where these can be seen, must not be less than 1.5mm thick at any point.
Pad wear indicator warning devices are not testable and a warning lamp which is lit is not a reason for rejection. However, early inspection of the system to locate the reason should be a common sense precaution.
